Welcome to my webpage

Science and photography are not too different. You have to observe objects, be curious about them, and tell their stories. Sometimes, using a magnifying lens, sometimes a wide-angle lens, and sometimes a computer, I unfold the story of an intriguing life.

Science

It is quite a journey for fat from table to belly. Consumed fat is decomposed into carboxylic acids, smaller units of fat, during digestion. When carboxylic acids travel through the digestive system and reach adipose cells, they are combined into fat and stored in a lipid droplet, an intracellular compartment for long-term storage. My Ph.D. work with Professor Gregory A. Voth at The University of Chicago, in collaboration with Professor Robert V. Farese, Jr. and Professor Tobias C. Walther at Harvard University, focused on the mechanism of lipid droplet biogenesis using molecular dynamics simulations, providing molecular insight into the process.

Photography

Photography is not about a glimpse of your day. It is about your life. Sometimes close to you, sometimes far away from you, I do my best to encompass you. It might be too small to write your routine, but it might be big enough to show who you are. Smile! You are on magic.
